Stewardship of Our Lifespan: Why the Church Can’t Keep Ignoring Health

I’ve been carrying something heavy in my spirit lately, and I know it’s not just for me.

The body of Christ has been deceived. We’ve been taught—sometimes subtly, sometimes outright—that our lifespan doesn’t matter.

When someone dies young, we say to ourselves, “It must have been God’s will.”
But what if it wasn’t?

What if many of the premature deaths we see aren’t God’s will at all—but the consequence of neglecting Biblical stewardship of the bodies He entrusted to us?

💔 The Lie We’ve Believed

We’ve accepted the world’s timeline for our health—70 or 80 years—and called it “normal.” And with every year as life expectancy lowers, we accept the loss of time as our reality.
We’ve assumed that aging means decline and that sickness is inevitable.

But God’s Word paints a different picture.

“With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.” — Psalm 91:16

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” — 3 John 1:2

The truth is, our health is part of our witness.

When we steward our bodies, we extend the reach of God’s presence on the Earth. When we neglect them, the assignment He gave us gets cut short and the enemy steals yet another testimony of His glory.

🌱 It’s Not About Vanity. It’s About Legacy.

We’ve been conditioned to see wellness as self-centered.
That gym membership. Those expensive meal plans. Who could afford it and would God even want us to? When we’ve been told to die to ourselves and subdue the flesh, how does that correlate with what we are seeing people do with their health?

The connection? STEWARDSHIP.

It’s easy to die and go to Heaven.
It’s stewardship to live long enough to bring Heaven to Earth.

When believers care for their bodies with intention, generations benefit.
We become mothers, grandmothers, mentors, and witnesses who display the resurrection power of God in real time.

⚡ The Call to Rise

This is your reminder: you don’t have to accept decay as destiny.

Yes, genetics, circumstances, and life happen—but the Holy Spirit empowers us to make wise choices, renew our minds, and honor our physical temples.

Stewardship means taking small, consistent steps of obedience:

  • Nourish your body with foods that bring life.

  • Move daily, not for aesthetics, but for availability.

  • Guard your rest as sacred.

  • Pray for wisdom over your health choices.

These aren’t diet rules—they’re discipleship rhythms.

🕊️ A Movement of Restoration

Imagine what could happen if believers began to see health as holy ground.
If we lived long, strong, and full of vitality—ready to serve, lead, and love.

That’s what we’re cultivating inside The Almost Confident Village—a faith-based wellness community where women learn to steward their health as worship and build legacies that last.

You don’t have to do this alone, friend.
Let’s rise together and become living proof that God’s design for our bodies is good. 🌿
