THE P31 GUIDE TO READING A NUTRITION LABEL
Because daughters of God don’t get played by the food industry.
Sis, let’s have a grown-woman, Kingdom-focused conversation. Because at some point in your spiritual and entrepreneurial maturity, you stop being impressed by pretty packaging and you start being led by discernment.
For so long, the world has trained us to buy based on aesthetics. They studied us and our response to colors, fonts, and labels.
The right colors.
The right vibe.
The right branding.
The leaf on the wrapper.
The word “natural.”
But daughters of God? We don’t live by sight we live by truth.
At some point in your journey, you stop getting bought, convinced, or deceived by the wrapper. You flip that thing over. You read the ingredients.
You check what it’s actually made of.
Because:
✨ Not everything that looks good is good for you.
✨ Not every “coach” is Spirit-led.
✨ Not every “opportunity” is God-sent.
✨ Not every “friend” has pure ingredients.
The Bible tells us clearly:
“Test all things; hold fast what is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21
Testing requires EVALUATING. Examining.
Flipping the label over and reading what’s really inside.
And sis, this discernment applies to:
Who you follow online
Who you let speak into your life
What you invest in
What you consume spiritually and mentally
What you build your business on
This is the season where God is teaching His daughters to stop being impressed and start being informed.
Because Kingdom women don’t fall for the packaging. We look at the fruit.

The Holy Spirit is sharpening your discernment because where He’s taking you next requires wisdom—not aesthetics.
So how do we walk in discernment when it comes to our food?
✨ 1. START AT THE INGREDIENT LIST — NOT THE CALORIES.
Sis, the world taught you to look at calories first.
But Kingdom women know better.
Calories don’t tell the story…
ingredients do.
👉 If the ingredient list is long, complicated, or full of words you can’t pronounce… PUT. IT. BACK.
A long ingredient list is usually a sign of fillers, stabilizers, preservatives, and chemical additives meant to improve shelf life, not your health.
✨ 2. CHECK FOR ADDED SUGAR (THIS IS THE TRAP).
Sis, “sugar” and added sugar are NOT the same thing.
💡 Natural Sugars: found in fruit, dairy, etc.
💡 Added Sugars: the stuff manufacturers sneak in to get you hooked.
Look at the “Added Sugar” line.
If it’s more than 4–5g per serving?
🛑 Your body is about to be tricked.
And watch out for sneaky sugar names:
Maltodextrin (acts like a sugar)
Dextrose
High-fructose corn syrup
Corn syrup solids
Fructose
“Evaporated cane juice” (sis… it’s sugar)
✨ 3. ARTIFICIAL DYES? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
Sis, we are DONE letting the world decide what’s “acceptable” to put in our bodies.
If you see:
Red 40
Yellow 5 or 6
Blue 1
Caramel color
Lake dyes
Put it back.
Artificial dyes are banned in other countries but approved in the US.
We are Kingdom kids, and that means we raise the standard.
✨ 4. PRESERVATIVES & FILLERS? NOT ON OUR WATCH.
Here are the big ones to avoid:
🚫 Carrageenan
Found in dairy and nut milks. Thickener. Inflammatory. Highly addictive.
🚫 Maltodextrin
A cheap filler that spikes your blood sugar more than normal sugar.
🚫 Artificial flavors
Which is code for “we aren’t telling you what’s actually in here.”
🚫 Gums (guar gum, xanthan gum — occasional is fine, but watch it)
Thickeners that can irritate digestion.
Sis, if the food needs THIS MANY chemicals to exist…
It’s not food anymore.
✨ 5. DECIDE TODAY: WHAT INGREDIENTS ARE ALLOWED IN YOUR BODY?
Sis, YOU get to decide:
💛 Are you done with artificial dyes?
💛 Done with preservatives?
💛 Done with chemicals?
💛 Done with hidden sugars?
💛 Done trusting an industry that does NOT have Kingdom values?
You choose what goes into your temple.
The world may settle for whatever is on the shelf…
But Kingdom women do NOT.
✨ 6. A SIMPLE RULE FOR YOUR CART:
✔ If you can’t pronounce it → put it back.
✔ If it has 20 ingredients → put it back.
✔ If sugar is in the first 3 ingredients → put it back.
✔ If there’s a dye, preservative, or additive → put it back.
✔ If the Holy Spirit gives you a nudge → put it back.
Your body is not a landfill for the world’s shortcuts.
It’s the temple of the living God.
We honor Him with our choices—food included.
✨ 7. WE ARE NOT JUST EATERS. WE ARE STEWARDS.
Sis, we don’t just feed our bodies…
We steward them for Kingdom purpose.
You don’t need to be obsessive.
You just need to be awake.
We are not blind consumers.
We are discerning daughters.
And discernment doesn’t stop at relationships, business, or spirituality —
It flows into your nutrition too.
Because YOU deserve food that fuels your calling, not food that fights it.
